Engineers say that in January painting will begin in the new production hall
Construction of the new hall began according to schedule and has brought considerable change to Abydos. All the buildings on our site have been connected and now form one complex with excellent transportation service. The completion of this new production hall will allow us to increase our production capacity and meet the ever-increasing demand for our services.
The new hall is being erected on the former site of two old sheet-metal warehouses which were nearly past their useful lifespan.
The new hall will contain a new paint shop equipped with modern technology for coating and spraying as well as technology which lowers the energy requirements of its operation. Examples are a heat pump which aids in heat recovery and a mechanism for comprehensive measurement and regulation of the entire system. Last but not least, Martin Šustík, explains that the project is designed to be an ergonomic workplace, which is very important for all of us. Martin is an engineer who has contributed significantly to the coordination of the entire project.
The construction of the hall and the revitalization of our whole site have been carried out by Metrostav and Algon. Galatek supplied the technology.
Construction was finished on schedule in the autumn. The opening of Abydos’ new production hall coincided with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of Abydos.
The new production line has already undergone its first testing and load tests. Operators will begin training in January during test operation. “Beginnings are always challenging. There are always glitches, which of course are hard to predict. It will take a while before we iron out all the kinks, but even with the complications it will be worth it,” added Martin Šustík, speaking of the upcoming changes to production brought about by the new hall.
Spatial capacity has increased significantly with the construction of the new hall. “If we add up the area of all the sections, both manufacturing and processing, it’s more than three thousand square meters,” said Jan Hubáček. This new space is a significant change. It will allow us to increase not only our production capacity, but also the efficiency of logistics and warehousing. We will be able to offer customers new services such as warehousing and a call-off order system within the Just-In-Time framework.
